In a moving ceremony at the 15th Global Wellness Summit taking place in Boston, Suzie Ellis and Nancy Davies of the Global Wellness Summit presented Sue Friedland with this year’s Leading Woman in Wellness Award for her dedication and work to support her husband Dr Daniel Friedland, who passed away in October.

Sue worked closely with Dr Danny throughout his career, supporting him with their leadership training business Super Smart Health and also as a highly respected GWS keynote speaker and key contributor to Global Wellness Institute. Throughout the last year of his life she also supported Dr Danny’s work to leave a legacy of heartfelt leadership.”

“I’d like to dedicate this GWS award to all the women and men who work tirelessly under the radar to improve people's lives. This shows that your work doesn’t go unnoticed.”

She told the audience: “For the past 10 years, Danny and I have been thrilled to be a part of this global community that came together to support physical, mental and environmental wellness as a way to heal the world-we need it now more than ever.

“I’d like to dedicate this GWS award to all the women and men who work tirelessly under the radar to improve people’s lives. This shows that your work doesn’t go unnoticed.”

A moving tribute to Dr Danny

Remembering her beloved husband, she reminded everyone of his mission to teach heartfelt leadership to the wellness world and beyond.

“Danny was an inspiration to me and to all the people he touched,” she told delegates. “He still had so much to give and was taken from us way too soon. After his brain cancer diagnosis, he filtered all his teaching down into three simple but profound messages that may inspire you:

  1. What matters most now?
  2. Make every moment count; and
  3. Live a loving life

“I hope his message can carry you forward as you work tirelessly every day to improve the lives of others through the global wellness movement. Your work does not go unnoticed and you are making a profound difference in the world!” she concluded.

Be inspired...
