Aqua Sana has unveiled its new £6.5 million Forest Spa in Elveden Forest.

The spa, which has undergone the biggest refurbishment in Aqua Sana’s history, has been transformed into a multi-sensory forest escape. It offers 25 spa experiences to harness the proven benefits of forest bathing.

Facilities include a range of steam rooms and saunas, a heated outdoor pool, an ice cave and a selection of relaxation rooms.

The spa has also introduced three new experiences, exclusive to Aqua Sana Elveden Forest – the Nest, Sole Therapy and Forest View.

Unique new spa experiences

Surrounded by natural cedar wood, guests can recline in the Nest on a body-contoured lounger and look out at the natural woodland.

Sole Therapy, inspired by Ashiyu Japanese foot baths, includes free-flowing water to stimulate reflex zones on the feet.

Forest View is an immersive meditation experience in which guests observe a scene slowly transitioning through all four seasons of the year, while surrounded by aromatic scents of the woodland.

“Having joined Center Parcs earlier this year, it’s been a privilege to be involved in such an amazing project. The level of investment demonstrates how important and integral Aqua Sana Spa is to Center Parcs.”

Stuart Angus

Director of spa, Center Parcs

“The spa now boasts 25 natural experiences, complementing our treatment and retail offering,” said Stuart Angus, director of spa at Center Parcs.

“We see this as the next evolution of our forest spa concept and part of our ongoing commitment to continually develop and ensure we’re providing the best experiences for our guests.”

Five forest spa zones

The spa is split across five zones – Nordic Forest, Hot Springs, Volcanic Forest, Forest Immersion and Treetop Nesting.

Each is designed to improve guests’ mental and physical wellbeing with sights, sounds and scents from nature.

‘In the forest of the forest’

The new Elveden Forest spas has been created by Sparcstudio, whose director, Neil Fairplay, said: “To create a forest-inspired spa journey, we took inspiration for each thermal zone from a different geological and geographical location – from cold Nordic forests to Japanese onsen-inspired hot springs. Each is designed to encourage spa guests to enjoy a different experience every time they visit.

“The materials palette is inspired by nature, with river pebbles, timber floors and tree trunk screens.

“The most unique feature is the Nest, a bespoke panoramic sauna with seven semi reclined wooden loungers all orientated towards a large picture window providing views across the forest.”

"I'm especially proud of how the different thermal zones seamlessly flow together. The vistas created between and through them offer glimpses of the Forest. The spa is now very much in the forest and of the forest."

The Vitalé Café Bar has also received a £1.2m investment for a complete redesign.

Aqua Sana Elveden Forest is offering guests a range of spa days and packages from £119pp and spa breaks from £345pp. Guests on a Center Parcs short break can also enjoy spa sessions (from £65pp for three hours).

Treatments are provided by Elemis and Decléor.
