The 44-room Savoy Hotel and Spa in Campania, southern Italy has reopened its Holos Spa after a renovation.

Located near the Paestum Archeological Area, in the picturesque landscape of Cilento, the renovated Holos Spa introduces new concepts inspired by old traditions.

The 700sqm spa is  designed to be intimate and welcoming. Facilities include three pools and a salt cave supplied by 3L Costruzioni Srl, plus an ice room, a Turkish bath with a rasul area and a sauna by KH Srl.

There is also a couple’s area with a private sauna, a pool, a Turkish bath and two massage beds.

Created by Milan-based architect and interior designer Giampiero Panepinto, the design combines cold and shiny materials such as purple calacatta marble and dark lava stones.

The rooms have a Mediterranean, slightly exotic feel. “For the materials we focused on great quality; we wanted a clear, clean effect and natural materials,” said Panepinto.

“We also focused on warm lights and the accessories are all designed specifically for the spa.

“It’s difficult to find a place like this in Italy. The Holos Spa was designed with a space-volume concept – we wanted a large spa, that was unique for the area. The rooms are very large, in particular the salt cave and ice room.”
