The Santo Maris Oia Luxury Suites & Spa resort in Santorini, Greece, has announced the launch of its new Santo Wellness Junior Private Pool wellness suites.

Billed as a holistic wellness experience that extends into the outdoors, the new additions are designed to place nature at the heart of the guest experience and encourage guests to ‘live well through nature’.

The suites' design was influenced by traditional ‘yposkafa’ cave-style architecture

Launching in April 2022, the new wellness suites were curated in partnership with natural lifestyle brand Onolla and were inspired by an Ancient Greek philosophy that emphasises the link between good health and the environment.

Guests will be encouraged to reconnect, relax and recharge in Santorini’s natural beauty with a programme of specialised spa treatments, outdoor activities and yoga in the resort’s landscaped gardens.

Onolla founder and beauty journalist Suzanne Duckett said: “I believe strongly in the transformative power nature can have on everyone’s mental health, physical health and wellbeing.

“By using the best products and practices, you can cultivate a deeper connection between you and your environment by syncing with the rhythms of nature, mirroring your health, beauty and life choices with the season and live a better, happier and, hopefully, longer life.”

Each suite is equipped with its own pool with hydromassage

Set in caves inside a natural hillside, the suites occupy 35-45sqm and are equipped with a private pool with hydromassage and a private outdoor veranda with sun loungers, as well as an open seating area, a king-sized bed, and a large stone bathroom with a rain shower.

The design is influenced by traditional yposkafa cave-style architecture and blends contemporary design with traditional elements. Minimal interior design highlights Santorini’s natural beauty, while a soft colour palette aims to soothe and relax guests.

“Health, wellbeing and meaningful experiences have never been more important in our lives,” said Manos Borboudakis, group general manager – Santorini division, Metaxa Hospitality Group.

“The new Santo Wellness Junior Suites Private Pool experience will allow our guests to live well through nature via a curated wellness journey of experiences both in the suite and the great outdoors exploring the authentic side of one of the world’s most beloved islands.”

Be well...
