Sabine Schanzenbach named as spa director at The Dolder Grand

The Dolder Grand, a five-star resort in Zurich, Switzerland, has announced the appointment of Sabine Schanzenbach to the role of spa director. 

Schanzenbach brings a wealth of industry experience to the role, gleaned from a 25-year career in fitness and wellness. 

Something of a Dolder Grand veteran, Schanzenbach has been working at the hotel spa on and off since 2013, beginning as the fitness and pool manager, a role she held for 18 months between 2013 and 2015 and again in 2016, before progressing to spa members club manager in 2018. 

Since 2019, she has served in the dual role of assistant director of spa and spa members’ club manager. 

Her experience also includes a stint as spa manager at the Hotel Atlantis by Giardino in Zurich in addition to several personal training positions.

In her new role, Schanzenbach will assume overall management of the spa and oversee its 67-strong spa team.

Commenting on her appointment, Schanzenbach said:  “I’m looking forward to working with the team, our spa brands La Prairie, Amala and Margy’s, as well as our medical partners to develop the range of products and treatments available to guests of the Dolder Spa even further.”

Housed inside one of Zurich’s most recognisable landmarks, the Dolder Grand features 175 luxurious rooms and suites, offering views over Lake Zurich and the Alps, as well as an exclusive members’ club and day spa. 

Occupying 4,000sqm, the spa offers separate ladies’ and gentlemen’s areas, as well as several spa suites and an Aqua Zone equipped with a swimming pool, whirlpool, terrace, steam bath, sanarium and mixed sauna area. 

A spa shop, spa library, fitness facilities and medical wellness practice complete the spa’s offering.
