Rosewood Hotel Group has appointed three new area directors of wellness across the Americas and Caribbean, Europe and Middle East, and Asia-Pacific regions.

Part of the brand’s continued evolution of the Asaya Spa concept, the appointments reinforce wellness as a core pillar of Rosewood’s culture.

Magdy Abdelaty, the former director of wellness at The Chancery Rosewood, London, has been promoted to area director of wellness (EMEA).

Abdelaty joined Rosewood as part of the Chancery’s pre-opening team to launch the Asaya wellness concept in UK.

His new role will involve managing the brand’s wellness concepts as well as new Asaya openings across Europe and the Middle East.

Speaking exclusively to European Spa, Abdelaty said: “For me, the most exciting part of my new role is the opportunity to grow and develop the Ayasa brand. My focus will be on standards, to ensure we maintain the quality we’ve been recognised and acknowledged for at every new spa across EMEA.

“During 2026 and into early 2027 we will be opening six new properties. Currently, plans will see us opening Rosewood Amaala, Rome and Crete before the end of the year and then Rosewood Red Sea, Milan and Venice in early 2027.

“I will strive to embed Asaya as an authentic spa proposition in a very competitive marketplace. The most meaningful spa experiences are shaped by listening, expertise and human connection.”
