Igor Mitric has been named as the new director of wellness at Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah, Al Wadi Desert resort in the UAE.

In his new role, Mitric will be responsible for developing and implementing new treatments and experiences in the spa. He will also oversee newly launched wellness retreats, including the three-night Detox Break, which offers holistic treatments, a tailored nutrition programme and moonlit camel rides; and the Balance and Reconnect Retreat, which aims to rejuvenate guests with six days of nature experiences, yoga and ‘invigorating’ spa treatments.

As wella s working alongside the resort’s food team to develop a series of healthy treats to create synergy between the wellness and culinary offerings, Mitric will also manage the spa’s existing operations, recruitment, marketing and budget.

Mitric brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked in luxury hotel spas and wellness centres for more than 15 years. His previous roles include leadership positions at several high-profile spa and wellness brands, including ESPA International, Prismologie International, Bulgari Hotels and Resorts. He also founded IM your Spa, a spa consultancy and business development agency.
