The Peak Edge Hotel in Chesterfield, UK, has been granted planning permission to build a new luxury spa.

According to the planning application, which was approved by North East Derbyshire District Council earlier this year, the new spa will feature a reception area and changing rooms, as well as a number of treatment rooms and an indoor-outdoor pool.

The development will also include the addition of 29 guest rooms

The spa offering will be completed with its own café and a host of thermal experiences including a sauna and a steam room.

The project forms the next phase in a programme of improvement works for the hotel, which has so far included the renovation of several suites as well as one of the hotel’s function rooms and the expansion of the site’s restaurant, The Red Lion.

"This is the exciting next phase in building a stunning destination for visitors to Derbyshire and the local community."

Steve Perez

Owner, The Peak Edge Hotel

“This is the exciting next phase in building a stunning destination for visitors to Derbyshire and the local community,” owner Steve Perez told Chesterfield News

“The extended hotel and luxury spa facility will be built to blend into the existing countryside and will be designed to the most exacting standards,” he added.

Building work is expected to commence in Q3 2022 and will also see the hotel expanded to include an additional 29 guest rooms.
