Miraval Resorts and Spas has opened its first international resort, Miraval The Red Sea, in Saudi Arabia.

Located on Red Sea Global’s flagship tourism destination Shura Island, Miraval The Red Sea is the brand’s first property outside the United States.

It introduces an all-inclusive, adults-only wellbeing concept and the largest spa on Shura Island.

At 3,000sqm, the Life in Balance Spa has 39 treatment rooms. It blends Miraval’s renowned philosophy of mindfulness and connection with wellbeing and sustainability.

Immersed in mindfulness, crafted with intention

Programming at the Life in Balance Spa is inspired by ancient rituals and global wellness traditions.

Expert-led personalised stays will span integrative wellbeing, outdoor adventure and interactive nutrition.

Facilities include a hydrotherapy circuit, a traditional hammam, a salt room and indoor-outdoor treatment spaces, as well as quiet rooms and relaxation lounges.

Situated at the heart of the offering, Spa Majlis is a gathering space where groups can connect, reflect and experience communal healing and moments of shared stillness.

Programming is spread across the Serenity Centre, the Body Mindfulness Centre and the Life in Balance Culinary Kitchen.

Treatments draw on rituals and customs from India, Tibet, Europe, China and Saudi Arabia

The spa menu covers creative expression, fitness, integrated wellbeing and meditation as well as facials and massages.

Experiences vary from bracelet and Arabian perfume making to drum circles and star gazing. Guests can try contrast bathing, facial Qigong and floating (silk-supported) meditations and sound baths.

Rituals span aromatherapy, hammams and Ayurveda as well as a Caracalla hydrobath system – a mineral water immersion with targeted jets and wave pulsations.

Regenerative design and sustainability

Aligned with Red Sea Global’s commitment to regenerative tourism, the 180-room, suite and villa resort is powered entirely by renewable energy, which contributes to a 30 per cent net conservation gain by 2040.

Miraval The Red Sea has also implemented advanced waste and water management systems, to minimise environmental impact while enhancing biodiversity.

Real estate developer Red Sea Global now has 11 hotels at The Red Sea destination. Six more, including hotels by Raffles, Rosewood, Fairmont and Jumeirah, are due to open soon.

Shura Island sits at the heart of the destination. Designed by Foster + Partners under the Coral Bloom concept, it began welcoming guests in 2025 and is currently home to five resorts.

Red Sea Global’s wellness focussed destination, AMAALA, will welcome its first guests later this year.
