Mii Cosmetics collaborates with The Power of Touch

Mii Cosmetics has partnered with spa-focused cancer inclusivity specialist The Power of Touch (tpot) to create the Mii Advanced Adapted Natural Nail Care Treatment course.

Available to enrol in from March 2023, the course will enable therapists to treat clients living with cancer or beyond cancer, making nailcare fully inclusive.

“We hope this course will help to build therapists’ confidence in delivering much-needed relaxing manicure and pedicure treatments to those touched by cancer,” said Samantha Kendrew, head of education at Gerrard International.

“We have worked with Michelle Hammond at tpot over the last three years to develop a comprehensive course that will help therapists perform nail treatments on clients who are currently going through cancer treatment, or have completed their treatment.”

The Mii Advanced Adapted Natural Nail Care Treatment course is offered at two levels.

There is a basic eight to 10-hour level-one on-demand course. Level two requires the submission of three case studies within three months of completing level one, to build further knowledge and confidence in delivering treatments.

A CPD certificate will be provided. Courses cost £79 ex VAT.

Embracing inclusive treatments

Michelle Hammond set up TPOT 10 years ago to support the complementary therapy and charity sectors in embracing integrative health and ensuring they are wholeheartedly inclusive.

“Macmillan’s latest research (2022) tells us that someone is diagnosed with cancer in the UK every 90 seconds,” said Hammond.

“This makes it even more important that we’ve come together to ensure our spa and salon network feel readied and able to provide the most appropriately personalised and adapted treatments to meet each unique client’s needs.”
