Made for Life Organics has announced a new partnership with the Academy of Clinical Training in Glasgow, that will see the launch of the brand’s SATCC-accredited Cancer Touch Therapy training in Scotland.

Cancer Touch Therapy training will be available at the Academy of Clinical Training from February, with Made for Life Organics’ trainers Nicci Anstey and Emma Williams working on the launch. It will be rolled out across salons and spas in Scotland throughout 2022.

Designed to ensure that people living with cancer can access wellbeing therapies in spas, the training equips therapists with the knowledge and skills to deliver CIBTAC-accredited and cancer-safe facial and body treatments, and provides a deeper understanding of the disease.

“Made for Life is delighted to be partnering with the Academy, which has a strong training team and great shared ethics and values,” said Amanda Winwood, founder and managing director of Made for Life Organics.

“This partnership extends our ability to train and educate therapists and spas throughout Scotland to welcome people with cancer into their spas and salons. The Academy team will offer training both onsite and within spas.”

Jenny Storey, director of education at The Academy, said: “The Academy are thrilled to partner with Made for Life Organics to become their training provider north of the border to deliver their Cancer Touch Therapy training course. As Scotland’s only CIBTAC-registered training centre it’s the perfect opportunity to offer Cancer Touch Therapy training and make it more accessible to therapists UK-wide.

“This partnership extends our ability to train and educate therapists and spas throughout Scotland to welcome people with cancer into their spas and salons.”

“The Academy and Made for Life Organics have the same beliefs and passion where we truly feel that holistic therapies should be available to anyone diagnosed with the condition.  For too long now cancer conditions have been considered as contraindicated and therapists have been discouraged from offering treatment, we strive to change these misconceptions and ensure therapists are equipped and prepared to be inclusive,” Storey added.

Lesley Blair, chief executive and chair of CIBTAC, said: “This is a natural partnership between two fantastic CIBTAC-certified centres who work tirelessly to deliver worldwide recognised training within the industry.  We feel this exciting collaboration further enhances Made for Life’s passions to ensure inclusivity for everyone.  The coming together of these two teams makes CTT training more accessible than ever while further safeguarding the treatment of cancer sufferers.”
