Jayasom has officially opened its highly anticipated flagship property, Jayasom Wellness Resort Amaala.

An integrative wellness sanctuary located at Triple Bay on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, Jayasom approaches wellbeing as a lifelong practice, shaped around guests’ individual needs.

The vision of founder and CEO Karen Campbell, the Jayasom philosophy is ‘a place for the heart’, taken from the meaning of its name – ‘Jay’ means heart and ‘Asom’ means place.

The resort include 153 rooms and suites as well as 24 residences and a 7,000sqm wellness facility.

“Jayasom was born from a belief that wellness is a practice – grounded in presence, learning and the quiet courage to be still. At Amaala, we provide the space and support to restore balance, breathe deeply and reconnect with wisdom – ancient and modern, personal and shared.”

Modern medicine meets holistic healing

“Our commitment is to deliver wellness with integrity and compassion, empowering guests to carry forward habits that enrich their lives long after they return home,” said Jayasom CEO Karen Campbell.

The Jayasom concept pairs modern medicine with traditional holistic healing traditions, local Saudi and Middle Eastern heritage, personalised programmes and conscious cuisine.

Its multi-generational approach features separate adults-only and family areas. Jayana is the dedicated adult wellness retreat, while Jayela is designed for families with dedicated age-appropriate spaces for infants, children and teenagers.

Treatments are provided in partnership with KOS Paris, Hydrafacial, Opiala, Margaret Dabbs London and AstraeaNatura.

Traditional Arabic and Islamic Medicine sits across many Jayasom treatments, as does hijama, the regional cupping practice.

Facilities at Jayasom

Wellness facilities, accessed by the Jayana Wellness Reception, include the Dispensary, featuring selected herbal remedies and the Vitalise Room for IV therapies.

In the hydrothermal suites there are warm and cool experiences including the steam room, ice fountain, Finnish sauna and cold plunge.  Outside there are mineral-enriched vitality pools, waterfall bathing, infrared heat and salt inhalation experiences.

There is a sound dome for immersive mind-body experiences, a Watsu pool and an Icaros movement studio, as well as a dedicated space for cryotherapy.

Movement offerings include partnerships with Neurac for neuromuscular activation using suspension slings and body contouring system Cristal Fit.

Speaking exclusively to European Spa for our Leaders’ Resource 2026, Campbell said: “My vision is to provide a simple, foundational wellness platform – as fundamental as learning to read and write – that models a healthy lifestyle.

“If we inspire guests from every generation how to be well, they will be better informed to choose a deliberate path, rather than accelerated trends or short cuts to health.”

Known for her work at Thailand’s integrative spa resort, Chiva-Som, Campbell’s mission for Jayasom is to empower people to live a healthier and more connected life.

“Jayasom was born from a belief that wellness is a practice grounded in presence, learning and the quiet courage to be still,” she said.

“We will provide the space and support to restore balance, breathe deeply and reconnect with wisdom – ancient and modern, personal and shared.”

Six pillars of wellbeing

Guests can access more than 200 therapies and treatments across six pillars: traditional and holistic health; physio relief and recovery; strength and mobility; spa and hydrotherapy; aesthetic and clinical; and nutrition and vitality.

At the heart of the Jayasom journey is the signature programme, Essence of Jayasom.

A wider collection of programmes will follow, responding to different life stages, priorities and personal goals. These will include As a Family, tailored for multi-generational wellbeing and As a Woman, supporting hormonal health and vitality.

As a Leader will be designed for high-performance lifestyles, restoring balance, resilience and mental clarity. As a Feather will be dedicated to detoxification and lightness and As a Flow will focus on movement and physical vitality.

Middle Eastern wellness

Jayasom has properties under development across Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

The brand is striving to represent the future of purposeful luxury with an offer where depth replaces excess, clarity replaces noise and wellbeing becomes a way of living, not an escape.

Jayasom is the sixth property to open at Amaala, the Saudi Arabian ultra-luxury wellness destination.

The giga-project is the vision of real estate developer Red Sea Global. It opened its first resort – Four Seasons Resort and Residences Amaala at Triple Bay – this summer.

Six Senses Amaala followed in July, and Rosewood Amaala opened in August. Nammos Resort and Equinox Resort followed earlier this month. Clinique La Prairie and the Ritz-Carlton are still to open.
