Government tech grants provide a boost to spa businesses

Up to £5,000 can be claimed to make improvements post-lockdown

Small and medium sized spa businesses in England can benefit from £20m of government funding to help them recover from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, including to invest in business management software.

Grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 are available to help businesses access new technology and other equipment, as well as professional; legal; financial or other advice to help them get back on track.

The support will be fully funded by the government from the England European Regional Development Fund and distributed through Growth Hubs embedded in local areas across England.

With contactless guest journeys now used wherever possible throughout the spa experience, the power of software in adapting, innovating and tailoring operational processes could enhance many spa businesses as they reopen.

The funding has been allocated to 38 Growth Hubs within each Local Enterprise Partnership area.
