Eight spas from across the UK have been crowned winners at the Good Spa Guide Awards 2025

The Good Spa Guide has unveiled the results of its 16th annual consumer-voted awards.

The awards celebrate spa excellence and the wellness industry’s support for health and wellbeing across the UK. They’re voted for by a quarter of a million spa-lovers.

This year, the awards introduced a new category – Best Traditional Spa Experience – to celebrate experiences that bring something different and exciting to the UK spa scene.

2025 State of Spa report

The Good Spa Guide has also revealed it 2025 State of Spa report, revealing what spa-goers want from spas in 2025.

The survey asked 2,557 Good Spa Guide members what makes them book one spa over another, what makes them rebook and what they enjoy most at a spa.

  • 57% of spa-goers look at facilities, like a swimming pool and relaxation space, when deciding whether to book a spa.
  • 69% would be put off after reading poor reviews of a spa.
  • 61% said being offered a discount for a return visit would encourage them to re-book.
  • 50% of those surveyed plan to spend between £100 and £200 on their spa day.

Spa anxieties

The survey also explored spa anxieties

– 25% of those surveyed said not feeling body confident was their biggest worry

– 27% said unexpected costs

– A notable 71% agreed their biggest concern is that a spa will be too busy.

When asked what they enjoy most about a spa day, 58% said it’s about the sheer indulgence of spa time.

Half (56%) enjoy using the facilities and for 51%, it’s the treatment experience.

What do these keen spa goers hate to see in spas? Mobile phones. Most would ban them.
