The Good Spa Guide has revealed the winners of its sixth annual Regional Awards, which recognise spa excellence across the UK.
The 2021 award ceremony took place on November 30 during an afternoon tea ceremony at The Lanesborough in London as spa directors and managers from across the UK came together to celebrate the integral role spas have played in the UK’s economic recovery since reopening.
The Best Spa in The East Midlands and East:
Ragdale Hall Spa, Leicestershire (Winner, pictured below)
Aqua Sana Spa Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire (Runner up)
Aqua Sana Spa Elveden Forest, Suffolk (Runner up)
The Best Spa in London:
Bvlgari Spa at Bvlgari Hotel (Winner, pictured below)
Rena Spa at Leonardo Royal Hotel (Runner up)
The Bath House – Russian Banya (Runner up)
More than 118,000 online votes were logged by spa-goers for 110 notable hotel spas, resort spas and destination spas in nine categories.
The awards were presented by The Good Spa Guide’s founder Daphie Metland and director Caitlin Dalton, and were supported this year by Oto, Million Dollar Facial, Gaia, Natura Bissé and Spa Seekers.
The Best Spa in The North East:
Serenity Spa at Seaham Hall, County Durham (Winner, pictured below)
Turkish Baths, Yorkshire (Runner up)
Rockliffe Hall Spa, County Durham (Runner up)
The Best Spa in The North West:
The Woodland Spa, Lancashire (Winner, pictured below)
Aqua Sana Spa Whinfell Forest, Cumbria (Runner up)
The Spa at Carden Park, Cheshire (Runner up)
The only category not voted for by the public, for Best New Spa, was determined by GSG’s own ‘spa spies’ and won by Bamford Wellness Spa in Gloucestershire (pictured top), which was recognised for its exceptional staff, imaginative design, holistic movement workshops and carefully curated treatments.
The Headland Spa, in Cornwall became the first spa to win in the new-for-2021 category of Best Coastal Spa.
The Best Spa in Scotland:
Fairmont St Andrews Spa, Fife (Winner, pictured below)
Aspen Spa, Sutherland (Runner up)
Imperia Spa, Gleddoch Hotel Spa and Golf, Renfrewshire (Runner up)
The Best Spa in The South East:
Aqua Sana Spa Woburn Forest, Bedfordshire (Winner)
SenSpa at Careys Manor, Hampshire (Runner up)
Champneys Health Spa Forest Mere, Hampshire (Runner up)
“Now, more than ever, people are seeking sanctuaries where they can step away from the stresses of their everyday lives,” said Good Spa Guide director Caitlin Dalton.
“We were delighted to recognise such a wonderful selection of spas from across the UK at our regional awards. This year’s results shine a light on smaller spas as well as recognising timeless classics. We extend a huge thank-you to all the consumers who took the time to vote.”
