Global Wellness Summit gets underway in Boston

The 15th annual Global Wellness Summit (GWS) kicks off today (November 30) at the Encore Boston Harbor, a Wynn Resort in Boston, US. 

Taking place both virtually and in person, this year’s event focuses on ‘A New New Era in Health & Wellness’.

Delegates will hear from a host of experts from the wellness, medical, tech and policy-making fields, offering insight into a range of topics including women’s health and the intersection of medicine and wellness.

Trends in the hospitality, travel and spa industries post-pandemic, as well as innovations in mental health and the link between psychedelics and wellness will also be discussed.

Keynote speakers at GWS 2021

The event will also feature an interactive conversation with the Global Wellness Institute’s research team, who will reveal their latest research. 

Other speakers include Six Senses CEO Neil Jacobs, who will deliver a keynote speech entitled ‘The New New Hospitality Priorities’, as well as  Dr Hanna Poikonen, a neuroscience researcher at ETH Zurich, who will explain how a new understanding of the connection between movement and the mind could change our approach to mental wellness.

Medical and wellness expertise

Dr Rebecca Robbins, an instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School and associate scientist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, will present new research on the topic of mental health, while Cassandra Vieten, PhD, executive director at the John W. Brick Mental Health Foundation, will moderate an interactive conversation entitled ‘The Future of Mental Wellness’.

Virtual attendees will have access to all of the on-stage presentations, both live and on-demand and will be able to attend online networking and breakout sessions, hosted by Six Senses wellness pioneer Anna Bjurstam.
