Amplifying women’s issues

Diez Barroso is founder and president of the architecture, design and real estate development company Grupo Diarq. In 2004, she founded Centro University, a leading university in Mexico City, that focuses on creative studies, entrepreneurship and business.

She is also the founder of several charitable organisations, including the Diarq Foundation, which is dedicated to eradicating domestic violence and in-school bullying, and Dalia Empower, a lifelong project dedicated to helping women achieve their personal and professional goals. The charity also provides medical and psychological support to women and children in domestic violence situations and equips them with the education, legal support and social tools they need to regain control of their lives.

"Gina is not only an incredibly successful businesswoman, but she has also dedicated herself to helping others, working to give women the ingredients they need for a successful life.”

Empathy and kindness

Diez Barroso also represents Mexico at W20, the G20’s women’s initiative. “We live in a changing, fast-paced and challenging world that, more than ever, requires that we form a network of individuals with empathy and kindness, that embraces differences to help humans reach their full potential and feel confident to harness their power for good causes and to make the world a better, more diverse and inclusive place for all to live in,” she said.

“It’s essential that we work on healing ourselves and others; on being kind, happy and healthy individuals; on sharpening our soft skills; and most importantly achieving physical, mental and emotional balance and wellbeing.”

The Healing of Everything

Anne Biging, co-founder of the Healing Summit, said: “Gina has devoted her life to support and amplify female leadership in a traditionally male-dominated industry, and I know our attendees will be inspired and uplifted by her story.

“She’s not only an incredibly successful businesswoman, but she has also dedicated herself to helping others, working to give women the ingredients they need for a successful life.

“With the theme at this year’s Summit of ‘The Healing of Everything’, Gina will show us how her actions have helped to heal the world, and how we might learn from her.”

Meaningful change

This year’s summit is designed to help attendees enact meaningful world change and will offer interactive sessions, workshops and plenaries covering topics such as social justice, personal transformation, investment, the economy and sustainability.

Registration for the 2022 Healing Summit is now open, with tickets costing €2,100. Spaces are limited to just 130 attendees.
