Global hospitality brand Four Seasons has appointed Courtney Cuningham as its new senior spa director, overseeing the UK Collection.

Cuningham’s new role will centre around driving strategic direction in the spas at Four Seasons Hampshire, Tower Bridge and Park Lane.

She is tasked with creating cohesion between the properties to ensure each spa embodies Four Seasons’ brand values.

In this new regional position, Cunnigham will support Four Seasons at brand level, working closely with the on-property teams to lead revenue growth, drive teams and develop spa membership programmes.

A career in hospitality

Cuningham has more than 16 years’ experience in hospitality, having worked her way up through various operational roles includes spa assistant and health club manager.

She began her career at Gleneagles Hotel in 2008 before joining Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire as spa director in 2023.

Cuningham is keen to explore experiential offerings that are outside of the traditional spa space and is pushing to redefine luxury wellbeing.

“Courtney’s appointment as senior spa director is a testament to the hard work and passion she has shown since joining the Hampshire team. It’s no question that with her wealth of experience, strong leadership and abundance of strategic ideas she will continue to push boundaries and elevate our wellness programmes.”

Speaking exclusively to European Spa, Cuningham said: “The wellness industry has come such a long way in the past few years, from immersive experiences and AI to biohacking, all with longevity at its forefront.

“It’s no longer enough for a spa to offer pampering treatments as a one-off treat. The guest of today gravitates towards results-driven, in-depth wellness that is delivered in a curated, personalised manner.”

“At each of Four Seasons’ UK hotels, promoting experiences that create purposeful moments and deep social connections, as well as providing opportunities for self-discovery, is very much a part of our wellness strategy and demand is ever-growing,” said Cuningham.

“Just recently, in Hampshire, we introduced the Morning Glow Ritual in partnership with Vida Glow, offering a morning of connection and self-care.

“The prospect of brining more experiential offerings to life in not just one, but three unique properties is an extremely exciting prospect, and something that will continue to drive me in this role.”
