Charlotte Cointement has taken up a new position as senior director of spa, EMEA, for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

Already leading the spa at the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat on the French Cote d’Azur, Cointement will also oversee the spa and wellness strategy for Four Seasons Megève and the Four Seasons Yacht Europe.

Collaborating closely with the brand’s global spa leadership, Cointement will integrate innovation, technology and meaningful guest experiences, while supporting the development of teams.

“My new role expands my current responsibilities, while remaining rooted in a very operational, people-focused approach. My objective is not to replicate a single model, but to support each destination to express wellness in a way that’s authentic, relevant and aligned with Four Seasons' values.”

“Developing spa today means going beyond treatments, creating experiences that are personalised, relevant and adapted to each destination, integrated in a way that feels purposeful rather than trend-driven,” said Cointement.

“My approach is to develop wellness strategies that support both guest satisfaction and team fulfilment, while positioning the spas as a strategic asset within the hotel ecosystem.”

A Four Seasons veteran

Originally from Paris, Cointement studied rooms management at the École Internationale Savoie Léman. She gained a Bachelor’s degree in luxury hotel and restaurant management at Université de Nanterre.

Cointement began her career at Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris in 2013, working across several operational departments including housekeeping, guest relations and spa management.

In March 2023, Cointement was appointed director of spa at the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat. Here she has been leading strategic spa development through curated brand partnerships and advanced wellness technologies, with a strong focus on team engagement.

Speaking exclusively to European Spa, she said: “My career journey has given me a deep understanding of hotel operations, service excellence and the importance of consistency across every guest experience touchpoint.

“My focus now is on understanding each team, each operational reality and each guest profile, aligning them around a shared vision.”

The value of wellness

“A key priority will be identifying where wellness can bring the greatest value – both experientially and commercially,” said Cointement.

“At Four Seasons Megève, one of the main challenges is team retention. The property operates with two openings and two closures each year, resulting in short but intense seasonal periods. Structuring the operation to retain and engage spa talent is therefore essential.

“At the Four Seasons Yacht Europe, my focus will be on transmitting a hyper-personalised service so wellness onboard feels refined, intuitive and deeply human. Both projects have very distinct operational and human dynamics.”
