A new five-star hotel with a subterranean spa owned by French hoteliers the Thomas family will open on November 30 in Paris’s prestigious ‘Golden Triangle’ district in the 8th arrondissement. 

La Demeure Montaigne will feature 93 lavishly decorated bedrooms; a secret bar; restaurant L’Envolée, helmed by chef de cuisine Gregory Réjou; and a basement spa.

The spa’s facilities include four luxurious treatment areas named after aquatic flowers, each equipped with showers, heated massage tables or all-in-one treatment chairs. 

Its thermal offering includes a steam room, a water treatment room and a swimming pool equipped with massage jets and a Jacuzzi. 

A gym outfitted with Technogym equipment completes its wellness offering.

Thalgo provides facials and massages

Treatments on offer include facials and massages provided by marine skincare brand Thalgo. 

Described as a ‘unique sensory interlude’, the spa is designed to make guests feel as if they are in a ‘seductive underwater grotto’ and is luxuriously decorated with Vals stone and underwater murals. 

Materials including White Horse granite, Carrara marble, scented wood and aqua and onyx leather are used to promote relaxation and convey a sense of opulence. 

Textile artist Janaïna Milheiro designed several wall hangings for the project, while glass sculptures were created by master glass blower Eric Bonte.
