The UK Spa Association (UKSA) Spring Networking Event – the association’s first in-person event of the year – took place on Wednesday, April 27 at the Montcalm East hotel in London.

Attended by 130 spa and wellness leaders and professionals, the event offered those present a chance to reconnect with colleagues, network with new contacts and enjoy the rare opportunity to meet in person.

Welcoming delegates, UKSA chair Adam Chatterley outlined opportunities to take part in sound healing sessions, led by Hannah Lammiman, founder of Silver Lining Life, as well as tours of the newly refurbished Bokeh Spa.

Guest speaker Julia Leckey, founder and CEO of brand and implementation consultancy at Honest, shared a heartfelt and insightful session on living wild and fearless to unleash your creative genius.

Leckey’s five sustainability hacks to create a personal health and wellbeing blueprint included urging delegates to get out of their “fear zone”, and instead seek joy and enlightenment. “As a business and an industry, you cannot be everything to everyone,” she said. “Until your restore balance to yourselves, how can you hope to restore balance to others?”

Brands showcasing their latest products and innovations at the event included BC SoftWear, HydraFacial, Murad, Temple Spa, OTO CBD, onejourney, JK Group, Gerrard International, Premier Software, Mavala, Ellisons, Junius and Floreat.

The networking event was followed by the National Spa Director Assembly, for UKSA’s spa operator members.

“We are delighted with our event at Montcalm East and Bokeh Spa earlier this week,” said UKSA General Manager Yvonne Ebdon. “To see so many of our industry colleagues coming together as a community is amazing.

“Over the past two years people have really missed connecting and we are very much eager to ensure we provide a way where we can bring people together, enabling those great conversations to truly happen with the right people.

“We have had some fantastic feedback following the event, around everything from the event itself, Julia and Hannah our session holders and how great the energy was in the room.”

“Our National Spa Director’s assembly was a great success,” continued Ebdon, “with operators able to share best practice, troubleshoot and realise they are not alone in their roles, and that we hold a safe space for them to converse and build their community.

“We are very much looking forward to seeing everyone at our next event.”

The UKSA is currently in the midst of finalising its Autumn networking event, scheduled to be held in October.
