Throughout Skin Cancer Awareness Month and beyond, professional skin health brand Dermalogica is partnering with SKCIN to provide education on the early detection of skin cancer.

Active across the hair, beauty and healthcare industries in the UK and Ireland, SKCIN’s MASCED (Melanoma and Skin Cancer Early Detection) accredited courses are designed to train professionals in how to spot the early signs and symptoms of skin cancer.

To support the charity in 2021, Dermalogica will pay for more than 185 of its UK and Ireland Skin Therapist employees to undertake the MASCED training, as well as offer funding for the course to all 5,000+ of its salon partners and skin therapists.

Dermalogica will provide MASCED training to all of its Skin Therapist employees in the UK and Ireland

More than 16,000 cases of melanoma are diagnosed annually in the UK and according to Cancer Research UK, 1 in 36 males and 1 in 47 females will be diagnosed with melanoma during their lifetime.

Candice Gardner, education manager for Dermalogica, said: “Many of us at Dermalogica have done the MASCED training as individuals and have been advocates of SKCIN for some time, so we are beyond excited to be working together to raise awareness through powerful education. And this is just the start!”
