Crossbasket Castle, located near Glasgow in Scotland, has revealed CGI imagery of its planned Four Angels Spa and accompanying Hebridean-inspired cabins.

The new destination spa, set to open in early autumn, marks the next chapter in the estate’s multi-million-pound transformation. It takes its name from the Four Angels Waterfall, which sits on the castle’s grounds.

The spa will offer dedicated relaxation spaces, four treatment rooms and an immersive thermal suite.

Thermal facilities will include two immersive experience showers, one drench shower, a sauna, steam room and heated loungers. The spa will use a bespoke Hebridean spa product range sourced from the Isle of Harris.

Designed to deliver a ritual-led holistic wellness journey, each element of the Four Angels Spa has been curated to create a sense of calm, encouraging guests to unwind, reset and reconnect with nature.

Complementing the Four Angels Spa, the hotel will also introduce 12 luxury timber cabins, nestled along the banks of the river.

The cabins’ refined interiors take a sensitive architectural approach, which enhances their natural setting.

Positioned to maximise privacy, with views of the surrounding woodland and river, each lodge offers a freestanding copper rolltop bath set against a floor-to-ceiling window.

Crossbasket Castle has partnered with Denholm Partnership Architects for the ongoing development of the estate.

The spa development follows a £20m expansion, launched in 2025, which saw the historic hotel evolve with the addition of 40 bedrooms, a restaurant and an entertainment-led dining experience overseen by Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux.

Crossbasket Castle opened in May 2016, having been restored by owners Alison and Steve Timoney.

The tower of the castle dates back to the 15th centurand it counts among its past custodians the 19th-century Scottish chemist and inventor of waterproof fabric, Charles Macintosh.

The castle’s sensitive restoration strikes a careful balance that honours its four-hundred-year-old history, while seamlessly integrating comforts of the modern age to create a calm and restorative setting.
