A new app designed specifically to help those whose lives have been touched by cancer has received support from some of the most well-respected spa and wellness brands in the world – and its founder is seeking more content and support from industry leaders.

Julie Bach, founder and executive director of Wellness for Cancer – a charity that aims to facilitate better self-care for those who have experienced the disease – has partnered with Kamalaya, Six Senses and Biologique Recherche on Kaleidoscope View in order to make wellbeing more accessible outside of specifically cancer-related centres and groups.

“I think you can see things differently by changing one small thing. That’s why the pilot app is called Kaleidoscope View – if you change one small thing, like your breathing, you can change your whole life’s view.”

The app blends general wellness content on topics such as sleep and anxiety, with specific information on aspects such as cancer treatment, surgery and end-of-life provision.

Subscribers can also follow guided meditations designed to help those dealing with cancer activate their autonomic nervous system to facilitate healing. These last for a variety of durations in order to best support the mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of listeners.

“This app serves a critical need for cancer patients to have easy access to specific meditation practices,” said Nathan Crane, director of the Global Cancer Symposium 2.0. “It is accessible and easy to follow for any person at any stage of cancer, and meditation has proven to support the mental, emotional and physical benefits for cancer patients.”

Kaleidoscope View’s content has been created in collaboration with a number of prominent spa and wellness brands, and Bach is keen to source more high quality content from other industry sources.

Any brands that would like to contribute to this mission to help those dealing with a disease that is projected to touch one-in-two people during the course of their lifetimes, are asked to email  julie@wellnessforcancer.com

There is also a Go Fund Me campaign underway to secure $15,000 that will enable the charity to realise the next phase of the app’s roll-out. If you would like to contribute before April 1, please click here
