Bowood Spa appoints new spa and wellness manager

Pippa Hartwell joins the Wiltshire-based team, bringing more than 30 years of experience in the wellness sector

Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort in Wiltshire has appointed Pippa Hartwell as its new spa and wellness manager. Hartwell joins the Bowood operations team from Bishopstrow Hotel and Spa.

Hartwell has previously held numerous spa leadership roles at high-profile resorts. She began her career as a therapist in north Wales, before moving to work at Chewton Glen in the New Forest, progressing to senior head manager.

She has worked for Stoke Park, for FJB Hotels as group spa manager and at the Celtic Manor Resort, where she was head of spa operations, as well as at Decléor as a professional spa trainer.

In her new role, Hartwell will be responsible for developing and delivering the spa strategy, building on Bowood’s wellness offering and membership programme.

The Bowood Spa

Facilities at the Bowood spa include a 15m infinity pool and a hot tub overlooking the grounds. There is a crystal steam room, rock sauna and aromatherapy showers as well as a relaxation room. Treatments use TempleSpa products.

The Bowood Estate has been home to the Lansdowne family for more than 250 years and has evolved into a destination for discovery and escapism.

The 2,000-acre estate is managed by Lord Kerry and his father Lord Lansdowne, the 10th and 11th generation custodians of Bowood.
