Apex Hotels has launched its Yu Spa concept at Waterloo Place Hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The spa, which opened in November, features three treatment rooms, including two couples rooms, and a thermal spa suite, as well as a gym and a swimming pool.

Treatments and products are provided by luxury skincare house Elemis, which also supplies the hotel’s in-room amenities. The Yu Signature treatment includes a personalised Elemis facial and  a reviving scalp massage with or without frangipani hot oil, while the Yu Hot Stone Massage incorporates the brand’s body oils combined with hot volcanic stones.

For nail treatments, Yu Spa has partnered with Mii to offer Treat Mii, a hand-reviving  exfoliation, moisturising massage and cuticle tidy-up, as well as Fly by Mii, which leaves hands and cuticles cleansed and conditioned.

Yu Spa, which already has a presence at the Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa in Dundee, also offers its own signature experiences as well as several day spa packages and overnight breaks.

The Edinburgh spa is headed up by Fiona Young, who will drive the expansion of the Yu Spa brand across Apex Hotels entire property portfolio.

“We’ve built a fantastic offering that gives spa-goers the opportunity to experience a real oasis of calm and tranquillity in the heart of Edinburgh.”

Young is also responsible for the development of new spa experiences and has already created two new day spa packages; Essential for Yu and Tranquil Touch.

“It’s an exciting time at Apex Waterloo Place Hotel as we invite guests and locals to experience our very own Yu Spa brand,” said Young.

“We’ve built a fantastic offering that gives spa-goers the opportunity to experience a real oasis of calm and tranquillity in the heart of Edinburgh – whether it’s for one treatment, a spa day or a full spa break.

“I’m excited to be on this journey with Apex, as we embark on plans to introduce the Yu Spa brand to other hotels across the portfolio. I’ve had such a warm welcome from the team and I’m looking forward to working with my new colleagues and seeing Yu Spa grow,” she added.
