Africa Wellness Congress reveals programme of events

The first Africa Wellness Congress will take place on October 13-14 at the Es Saadi Marrakech Resort in Morocco.

The event, which is being organised by HAB France and Vladi Kovanic, is themed ‘Pioneering investment and business in Africa’s wellness industry’.

It is designed to bring investors, spa and hospitality professionals, wellness experts and architects together to discuss the future of the wellness sector in Africa.

Africa Wellness Congress: speaker line up

The programme of events includes keynote speeches, panel discussions and pre-scheduled meetings with other attendees, as well as the opportunity to network. The current speaker line up includes:

An opening address from Hamid Bentahar, president of the Nation Confederation of Tourism (Morocco)

Amy McDonald, founder of Under a Tree wellness consultancy (USA)

Kent Richards, founder of Wellness World Global and member of Africa Wellness Initiative (UK)

Adel Koubaji, director of Vichy Thermalia Moulay Yacoub (Morocco)

Martin Goldmann, CEO of ASPA International (Portugal)

Mariane Akwenye, founder of Nomad Wellness and chair of the Africa Wellness Initiative (Namibia)

Rumbiey Muchenje, certified sleep and integrative health coach (Rwanda)

Caroline Bauchet-Bouhlal, group deputy GM of Es Saadi Marrakech Resort (Morocco)

Professor Jacques Houroupou Mbambai, founder of Maison du Bien-être (Tchad)

The event is being supported by the Global Wellness Institute’s Africa Wellness Initiative, the National Confederation of Tourism in Morocco and Luxe Radio.

The host venue, Es Saadi Marrakech Resort, includes the 3,000sqm Palace Spa, built around a centuries-old eucalyptus tree.

The largest spa in Marrakech, across three storeys it includes the Oriental Thermae baths, private Moroccan hammams, Vichy showers and a Dior Institut.
