Global expansion plans revealed for Fivelements

GOCO Hospitality has revealed plans to expand renowned Balinese healing sanctuary Fivelements into a global wellness hospitality brand.

The company acquired Fivelements in 2024 and is now embarking on an ambitious international expansion, with Fivelements Samui opening in early 2027.

This will be followed by the transformation of Fivelements Ubud in 2028. European expansion will welcome new destinations in Switzerland (2029) and Montenegro (2030).

Global expansion

The growth marks a significant new chapter for Fivelements, which was founded in Bali in 2007.

It has become known for its pioneering approach to plant-based cuisine, traditional healing, holistic wellbeing and community empowerment.

Under its new ownership, GOCO Hospitality, the wellness consultancy group founded by industry veteran Ingo Schweder, plans to evolve Fivelements into a network of destinations and retreats.

The aim is to bring together longevity science, diagnostics and contemporary knowledge with ancestral wisdom, nature and local culture.

Across the portfolio, a shared Fivelements wellness philosophy will be expressed through each destination’s individual character. It will draw inspiration from the landscape, architecture, culture and traditions to create experiences that feel distinctly Fivelements and truly of their place.

Fivelements Ubud, Bali

The original retreat on the banks of the Ayung River opened in 2007 and established many of the principles that continue to define the brand today.

In 2028, Fivelements Ubud will enter its next chapter with room renovations, offering 11 new waterfront villas, each with a private pool.

Fivelements Samui, Thailand

Opening in early 2027, Fivelements Samui will become the brand’s flagship property.

Set among two hectares of tropical rainforest, a former beachfront hotel in Lamai, Koh Samui will be transformed into a new-generation wellbeing destination.

Fivelements will introduce a comprehensive layer of wellbeing experiences, including thermal and rainforest bathing, a yoga shala overlooking the ocean.

It will also introduce a dedicated 900sqm longevity centre that will offer diagnostics and treatment services with four certified doctors.

Fivelements Leysin, Switzerland

Planned to open in 2029, this new project in Montreux, will see Fivelements transform the historic Les Chamois property into an alpine wellness and longevity destination.

The property will have 60 keys in the main building, 29 chalets, two restaurants; and 4,000sqm of wellness space.

Fivelements Montenegro

In 2030, Fivelements will expand further into Europe with a project set among the pine forests and alpine landscapes of Biogradska Gora.

This is set to be one of the most comprehensive Fivelements’ properties, featuring residences and a wellness community.

Here, the local environment and traditions will inform the programme, with the region’s herbal knowledge, seasonal practices.

Traditions around fermented foods provide a natural foundation for Fivelements’ approach to nutrition, restoration and connection with nature.

A new approach to wellness hospitality

Fivelements’ expansion is supported by GOCO’s investment partnership with Fullerton Fund Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund.
