Manor House Alsager reveals new outdoor spa

Manor House, Alsager in Cheshire has expanded its facilities with The Courtyard, a new outdoor spa space.

The new area is centred around the UK’s first outdoor magnesium-enriched spa pool, by One Pool.

Enriched with magnesium, the water feels soft and silky against the skin and is associated with wellness benefits including muscle recovery, stress relief and restorative sleep.

Alongside the pool, The Courtyard’s statement swinging heated day beds are each fitted with overhead patio heaters, creating a year-round spa experience.

The day beds were designed and built bespoke by the hotel’s joiner.

“We wanted to create a space that encourages guests to slow down, reconnect with nature and experience the simple luxury of feeling completely at ease,” says Middleton.

“The Courtyard embodies that vision – a year-round outdoor sanctuary where every detail has been designed to help our guests switch off and leave feeling restored.”

The Courtyard is the latest in a series of investments into the Manor House spa experience.

The independent family-owned expanded its spa garden in April 2025, with the addition of the 36sqm multi-experience Secret Garden, for relaxation with restoration.

Existing spa facilities at the 17th Century farmhouse include the table-top hydrotherapy tub set in a formal sunken garden, the potting shed herbal sauna and a salt steam inhalation chamber, supplied by Anapos Thermal Spa Equipment.

There is an ice plunge bath and the swim-up bar, designed by interiors specialist Steve Gibson Design.

Other features include, and a number of experiences housed in garden buildings – the potting shed herbal sauna and an ice plunge bath and shower experience.
