Wildsmith reveals Treescape auditory experience

The immersive soundscape has been created in collaboration with sound artist Justin Wiggan

Skincare brand Wildsmith has collaborated with sound artist Justin Wiggan to produce a soundtrack to accompany Wildsmith wellbeing experiences.

Treescape is an immersive soundscape that unfolds in six movements, each mirroring a journey through the forest.

A living sonic journey, it mirrors the rhythms of nature and an invitation for listeners to reconnect with the wisdom of the forest.

The Treescape sonic journey is inspired by the ecosystem of the Wildsmith arboretum on the Heckfield Estate, Hampshire, England.

Treescape is composed using biosonification – a technique that translates the electrical impulses of trees, soil and plant life into sound.

This is then interwoven with binaural beats and therapeutic solfeggio frequencies, designed to guide the listener through a meditative experience.

Rooted in ancient musical traditions, solfeggio frequencies are believed to restore harmony within the body. Emerging research links them to reduced stress, deep relaxation and emotional release.

The soundscape includes biosonification of clouds and wind over the Heckfield Estate as well as the sounds of the forest canopy and the roots, mycelium and microbial life of the forest floor.

“When I first stepped into the Wildsmith arboretum, I felt an undeniable presence – an energy that pulsed through the trees and whispered from the soil,” said Justin Wiggan.

“At times, that presence interfered with my devices, as if nature itself was reminding me: ‘you’re not here to control; you’re here to listen’.”

“Treescape is a living composition shaped through biosonification, capturing the unseen pulses of roots, the breath of leaves and the invisible pathways of microbial life. It’s a sonic conversation with the very fabric of life; a space to day dream with the sky, breathe with the trees and to ground with the roots.”

Impact Report with FuturePlus

Wildsmith has also released its first Impact Report in partnership with FuturePlus, to measure the brand’s sustainability performance.

The FuturePlus platform assesses Wildsmith’s impact across five core pillars: climate, environment, social, economic and diversity & inclusion.

Wildsmith is positively contributing to 16 out of the 17 UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

“Our focus for 2026 and beyond is a commitment to increasing the use of home compostable materials, such as Shellworks’ Vivomer, in our primary packaging, which naturally degrades in compost or soil within one to five years, leaving no microplastics behind,” said Pye.
