The Spa at Carden Park has played host to a special event, designed to empower men who are navigating cancer.

Tea and Tools, which took place in early September, was hosted at Carden Park in collaboration with Made for Life Organics.

The special session was designed for men whose partners may be going through cancer or who may be navigating their own personal journey with the disease.

Led by Jamie Edwards, a renowned mental performance coach, Tea and Tools offered practical advice that can be integrated into daily life to help manage its complexities.

“This was more than just men chatting about their experiences with cancer. These men also went away with tools they could apply immediately.”

Relaxation, connection and rejuvenation

“We have had a long-standing partnership with Amanda Winwood and Made for Life Organics. It is a true honour to work with them to provide a nurturing and soothing environment for men living with or undergoing cancer treatment,” adds Emma Pridding, spa director at Carden Park.

“It was truly inspiring to see guests open up about their experiences, providing a much-needed space for relaxation, connection and rejuvenation tailored to a male audience.

“Our goal was to offer comfort and kindness, and Jamie Edwards shared meaningful advice for the men to take away with them.”

The session gave tools for navigating the emotional and psychological challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis.

Edwards provided strategies and insights on how to approach difficult conversations with sensitivity and clarity, plus how to support loved with compassion.

Tools included practical mental performance and emotional fortitude tips to help the men cope with stress and uncertainty.

"Tea and Tools was launched after feedback received at our Great British Tea and Therapy event for women living with cancer, that men living with women going through cancer also needed support on how to have honest conversations with their partners. In addition, men going through cancer themselves need to be able to find ways to express how they really feel."

“Tea and Tools enables this,” says Winwood. “What it also does is brings men into a spa environment.

“Here they can experience what a difference it may make to their own wellbeing and their partners, too. It’s simply a win win.”

Made for Life Foundation is a charity providing integrative support to people diagnosed and recovering from cancer. It aims to collaborate with spas to offer Touch Therapy and Tea and Therapy days to people living with cancer across the UK.

Carden Park will be hosting a second Tea and Tools event on November 13.

The spa will also play host to two Tea and Therapy wellness mornings on October 15 and November 12.
