Marquis Spa in Suffolk opens after extensive expansion

The Marquis Spa has reopened at the Marquis hotel in Suffolk with extensive new spa facilities after a £15m expansion.

The subterranean, Italian-inspired vaulted spa was created by KLH Architects alongside Rendall and Wright Interior Designers, plus spa and wellness director Katie Baker.

Facilities include a hand-crafted, vaulted indoor pool and an outdoor infinity pools from Letts Pools and Wrightfield Pools. A 150sqm pool terrace overlooks over the picturesque Brett Valley. There is a sauna from Anapos and a hot tub, also from Letts Pools.

The new Marquis Spa has one double and two single treatment rooms with Gharieni treatment beds, two manicure stations and a spa lounge.

“The treatment menu and facilities were all curated to compliment the Italian-inspired backdrop of vaulted ceilings and hand-crafted details throughout,” said Katie Baker, spa and wellness director, Marquis Spa.

“We were very deliberate in our approach and execution of this project. Our overarching aim was to maintain a point of difference from any other spa destination in the UK.”

The 380sqm spa will employ ten therapists offering treatments by Oskia, Natura Bisse, Caci and HydraFacial.

Morning, afternoon and full-day retreat packages are available and every guest will be offered their own personal Marquis Spa bag.

Uniforms are supplied by Buttercups and towels, robes and spa linens are from BC SoftWear. Bespoke day beds are from Rendall and Wright and the spa uses Trybe software.

The Marquis Suffolk is a luxury hotel in the Brett Valley in south Suffolk.
