This year’s World Spa & Wellness London Convention is set to take place at ExCeL on March 2-3.

A gathering of the global spa community, the event offers spa leaders the opportunity to network and learn alongside industry peers.

Key themes for this year’s sessions and panel discussions include the future of hospitality, incorporating AI into your spa business and longevity within wellness.

Mark Moloney, managing director at Professional Beauty, talks about what makes World Spa & Wellness London stand out from the crowd.

The event creates a genuine melting pot for ideas

“We have some of the best names in business coming from across the world to London, all at an incredible price – £329 for a two-day ticket – which is probably the best value you’ll get,” said Moloney.

“The convention allows the industry to get up close and ask questions of the people who shape the sector, from executives of large groups to those who run niche spas.”

We look for the speakers that really have something to share

“This year we’ve made strong demands on our speakers that they share numbers and experiences delegates can learn from, and do not just preach.

“I’m looking forward to Simon Casson and Suzanne Holbrook who are speaking on the future of hospitality.

“We have a great session with Patrick Huey, Paul Hawko and Louise Moore on how to present the true value of your spa to your GM, plus practical sessions on how to get most of retailing and dynamic pricing.

“As a delegate you will take away practical ideas and solutions to make a strong impact on your spa business.”

"Spas need to focus on personalisation; people have different needs but how do spas square that circle and offer guests a meaningful choice, with realistic structure and price? And how can operators do this affordably for the customer as well as profitably for long-term success?"

Technology and AI is changing the face of spa – and events

“We have session dedicated to AI, focusing on how it is transforming the wellness and hospitality world,” Moloney continued.

“It’s a subject I think a lot of people are concerned about – if you work outside a big group, it can feel like you are being left behind.

“The convention will try to offer practical advice on what actions any organisation can take.”

The awards are the Oscars of the spa and wellness industry

On the Sunday night of the show – March 2 – the World Spa & Wellness Awards will be taking place at the Brewery London.

“The awards recognise and celebrate the best spa and wellness operations around the world. This year we have re-introduced in-person judging,” said Moloney. “Every finalist has been visited by an official visitor, who then reports back to seven further judges.

“This is an award where you’re judged by the industry and those who win achieve a genuine accolade.”
