W Algarve reveals new Away Spa in Portugal

W Algarve has revealed its recently launched Away Spa at the luxury resort on the south coast of Portugal.

The 1,065sqm project, which debuted in June 2022, was designed by Divercity Architects and AB Concept. It features six treatment rooms including one couple’s room, a hair salon and a mani-pedi bar.

An expansive wet area with sauna, steam room, whirlpool, and a tented outdoor relaxation lounge overlook the resorts beautifully landscaped gardens.

Modern thermal experiences 

The Wet Lounge features state-of-the-art hydrothermal facilities including a sauna at 85-90C, a steam room at 46-48C, an ice crunch fountain and a sensorial shower. A fire tub is set at 37-39C with warm hydrotherapy water jet massages to relaxes the muscles. The cold plunge tub is fixed at 12C for contrasting the heat experiences or pure cold therapy on its own.

Away Spa Beauty Bar

The Away Spa’s Beauty Bar offers a full range of hair, nail and beauty treatments from [comfort zone], Natura Bissé, Skin Regimen and Ignae, a luxury Portuguese cosmetic brand.

Created as a social space, guests can order cocktails and join their family and friends for treatments at any time. For more intimate treatments and massages, guests can enjoy the privacy of the six treatment rooms or the couple’s room.

The spa retail area also showcases Comporta Perfumes, All Sisters, DCK and Keune.

Uniforms were supplied by Gio Rodrigues with towels and robes supplied by the Portuguese company, J. Almeida.

Time to get FIT

High-intensity workouts and boot camps are offered at FIT, the modern gym that embodies the W brand’s social and energetic take on wellness. Located on the second floor, FIT boasts 134sqm of indoor space and more than 320sqm of outdoor space, fully equipped with the latest Technogym equipment and an Olympic power rack. Sunrise yoga is also offered at the spa.
