The Spa at Hatherley Manor appoints new spa manager

Jackie Armitage will lead the team with more than 22 years of international spa and wellness experience

Jackie Armitage has been appointed as the new spa manager at the Spa at Hatherley Manor in Gloucester.

With more than 22 years of international spa and wellness experience, Armitage was most recently health club and spa manager at DoubleTree by Hilton Cheltenham. There she improved revenue performance, strengthened the team and enhanced spa operations, earning the hotel’s Newcomer of the Year Award in 2024.

Prior to this, Armitage spent 12 years as executive spa manager at the Oyster Box Hotel in South Africa, leading a large spa team and overseeing all operational, training and guest experience standards.

“My focus is on delivering a more rounded, modern and engaging wellness experience for guests. I will be striving to strengthen staff development, refine guest touchpoints and review the treatment menu to ensure it remains fresh and innovative,” said Armitage.

The Spa at Hatherley Manor has six treatment rooms offering a menu by Elemis and Made for Life. Facilities include a spa swimming pool, thermal suite, lounge and café area.

Armitage’s earlier career includes senior roles with Duniye Spa Group in the Maldives; Inkaterra Machu Picchu in Peru; Les Thermes Marins des Cascades in Egypt; and Shamwari Game Reserve in South Africa.

She also contributed to spa consultancy and training for Xigera Safari Spa in Botswana and Ashford Castle Spa in Ireland.
