Located within 24 acres of South Derbyshire countryside, The Spa at Breedon Priory is scheduled to open in mid-to-late-September this year with a total build cost of £4.3m.
Work is currently ongoing at the 1,344sqm spa spa, which has been designed by Nottingham architects YMD Boon, and the finished facility will offer guests a large spa garden designed by Lush Landscapes.
Spa consultancy is being provided by Claire Caddick of SPArticulate and equipment and furniture suppliers include Spa Vision, Ellisons, Coco Wolf, Akula Living, Lugo, BC Softwear.
The spa’s thermal suite will comprise a Himalayan salt sauna, a herbal sauna, an aroma steam room and a herbal steam room as well as an ice fountain and experience showers. There will be two outside pools – a vitality pool with a range of different features and a relaxation pool with infinity edge overlooking the small lake and surrounding countryside. Inside there will also be two relaxation areas and a slumber room.
Among the wellness offer will be six single treatment rooms and one double, which is part of a private suite that has its own secluded outside relaxation area with a spa bath and fire pit. Inside there will be a private lounge, an adjoining double treatment room and a range of other luxury relaxation features.
Treatments throughout the spa will incorporate the expertise of Temple Spa, Tribe 517, Pinks Boutique and Proverb for men. Nail treatments will use Zoya products.
Completing the guest facilities will be a restaurant and bistro both with outside dining areas and offering a menu using locally sourced ingredients.
Upon opening, a second phase of the project will see the construction of eight holiday lodges for guests wishing to spend more time enjoying Breedon Priory’s facilities.
