The Nici announces new spa will open this spring

The Nici hotel in Bournemouth has unveiled details of the second phase in its multi-million-pound refurbishment, which includes a new 680sqm luxury spa.

Set to open in May 2023, the Nici Spa will feature a 15m heated indoor pool and hydrotherapy pool, alongside a steam room and aromatherapy sauna.

A vibrant yet tranquil space, the Nici Spa will also include a second floor relaxation room with crystal energy loungers.

Redefining the staycation

With eight treatment rooms, The Nici Spa will partner with OTO CBD and Oskia to create a bespoke menu of treatments and holistic therapies. These will include bamboo massage, sound therapy and anti-ageing techniques.

The refurbishment will also see the creation of a gym, featuring Technogym equipment.

There will be a 28m outdoor palm-green heated pool, an outdoor activity centre and additional courtyard rooms. There will also be a studio space for stretching and one-on-one specialist tuition.

“The addition of a luxury new spa  –Bournemouth’s first – and huge outdoor pool will further transform the hotel into a year-round destination,” says Marcus O’Leary, general manager at The Nici.

“Much like OTO CBD, The Nici is drawing on international inspiration to create a world-class experience,” adds Helen Cain, global director of spa at OTO. “We are proud to be partnering with the new spa, creating standout immersive experiences on the south coast.”

The refurbishment will also include the creation of a 28m outdoor heated pool, an outdoor activity centre and additional courtyard rooms.

There will be a studio space for stretching and one-on-one specialist tuition.

With 10 miles of coastline to explore, the spa will also offer outdoor group fitness activities, from boardwalk runs, sea swims, paddleboard yoga and beach fitness classes.

The first phase of the Nici’s refurbishment saw £20m invested into the south coast hotel, with new garden hot tub suites and an indoor cinema. 

The Nici Club will offer a limited number of membership options, to include use of the spa and pool facilities.
