Winners of the Shine Your Light Awards 2023 announced

Recognising outstanding individuals in the spa and wellness industries, the Shine Your Light Awards winners for 2023 have been announced.

An award ceremony was held in London as a showcase for those who have made an extraordinary contribution to charity or community.

Going above and beyond their role, these individuals were praised for having demonstrated passion and commitment to their profession, often giving up their time to raise money for charity or to support people in their community.

Organised by Michelle Hammond, founder of tpot education, the awards are designed to highlight the hard work and dedication of work of people who are often not recognised for the valuable contributions they make.

The awards were judged by industry experts including Paula Perkins, Beata Aleksandrowicz, Sunita Passi, Helena Field, Nigel Franklyn, Mark Smith and Michelle Hammond.

“The calibre of entries this year has been incredibly high, said Hammond. “So much so that in some of our categories we shortlisted four and five finalists, rather than our usual three.”

“It has given us all as judges a real challenge – but what a reflection on the sense of purpose and possibility from within our industry”.

“These awards are about recognising and rewarding those that go up and beyond in the care of the clients, colleagues and community”, Hammond continued.

“Individuals who elevate the true beauty of our industry and are driven by heart, passion and purpose to unleash the full power of their touch in all that they do and in all that they are.”

The Shine Your Light Awards event was held at Refettorio Felix, a drop-in centre and community kitchen serving vulnerable people in Earl’s Court.

It was a fitting location for an event that is about giving back to the community, said Ali Kingsley, chief executive of Refettorio Felix.
