The Lanesborough Club & Spa health and wellness members club has launched a new signature treatment by patented plant-based skincare brand Royal Fern.

The facial treatment harnesses the anti-ageing and antioxidative powers of ferns and combines this with facial massage and sculpting microcurrent and EMS technology.

Designed to encourage a firmer appearance – dubbed the ‘Royal Fern Radiance’ – the facial combines stimulating massage techniques that lift, drain, and sculpt with Royal Fern products adapted to each individual skin type.

Sculpting microcurrent gloves amplify the active ingredients’ absorption into the skin to help define, calm and nourish while promoting cell regeneration, improved texture and healthy radiance. The facial also stimulates lymphatic drainage to de-puff the face.

Created by renowned dermatologist Dr Timm Golueke, Royal Fern is made using its namesake, the royal fern plant, which has existed for more than 400 million years, steadily conquering new habitats on every continent.

An evergreen, royal fern is resistant to UV radiation and environmental pollution, with its fronds and roots used in many cultures for natural remedies.

Dr Golueke read a study that study examined the use of fern extracts in the complementary treatment of melanoma patients, and began his journey to create Royal Fern to help promote healthy, radiant, and protected.

Our reporter, who experienced the the 90-minute protocol, which includes face, neck, shoulder, and scalp massage, said: “After trying out the Signature Royal Fern Treatment at the Lanesborough I was surprised by how plumped and glowing my skin looked. Often facials can leave my spot-prone, oily skin feeling greasy, red and sore, and lead to breakouts, but not so with this treatment.
