Resources for Leisure Assets (RLA) Group CEO Roger Allen has begun a three-year tenure as board member for the International Society of Hospitality Consultants (ISHC).
Represented by 200 hospitality industry professionals from across six continents, the ISHC was created in 1988 as ‘the leading source for global hospitality expertise’.
“This is a period of great pressure, but also one of great innovation,” said Allen. “As the sector moves deeper into the mainstream, investors are becoming better educated and more demanding of the detail which supports the bottom line. It is only with specialised consultants that every project can achieve the goals of all stakeholders involved.”
ISHC objectives include to promote the awareness and advancement of the hospitality consulting profession and to foster a high ethical standard for the industry. The organisation also has a scholarship and awards programme as well as participating in various industry research projects.
Speaking about Allen’s appointment, Andrea Belfanti, ISHC executive director, added: “In these most challenging times for our industry, we know that consulting will play a critical role in the recovery of our industry for the pivotal years ahead and we are confident in our board and thankful for their leadership.”
