One&Only Aesthesis appoints new wellness director

Markela Demiri has joined the team at Guerlain Spa at One&Only Aesthesis in Athens, Greece.

Formerly spa manager as part of the pre-opening team at 1 Hotel Mayfair in London, Demiri will now head up the first Guerlain Spa in Greece, which opened in early 2024.

With a strong foundation in wellness and luxury hospitality, Demiri’s spa experience began in Greece. She then went on to work in some of London’s most prestigious spa hotels, including ESPA Life at Corinthia, the Berkeley Hotel and the AMAN Spa at the Connaught.

“I have led high performing teams and delivered exceptional guest experiences in the past, and hope to bring a refined international approach to elevating the Guerlain Spa’s wellness offering,” said Demiri.

Demiri will be ensuring every touchpoint, from treatment protocols to guest engagement, is elevated and personalised.

“Aligning the guest experience with Guerlain’s exceptional standards is my key focus,” she added. “Together with the great team already in place, I will aim to further strengthen our connection with both local and international guests.

“I plan to develop the spa’s wellness offering by infusing Guerlain’s timeless elegance , innovation and expertise into every aspect of the guest journey and establish the Guerlain Spa as a leading wellness destination in Athens.”

Guerlain Spa at One&Only Aesthesis

Located on the Athenian Riviera, One&Only Aesthesis is situated within a serene 21-hectare beach and forest reserve.

The Guerlain Spa features seven treatment rooms, including two spacious double suites, a sauna, hammam, cryotherapy chamber and an outdoor pool.

Guerlain’s treatment menu incorporates scientific precision into the spa experience with its ultra-personalised treatments.

There is also a Bastien Gonzalez Pedi:Mani:Cure Studio for hand and foot rituals.
