The Woodward, Geneva debuts with new Guerlain Spa

The Oetker Collection has opened its first property in Switzerland. The Woodward, housed in a historic former bank and hotel building  overlooking Lake Geneva, boasts 26 spacious, apartment-style suites and the exclusive Club Woodward.

Reserved for hotel guests and just 90 members, Club Woodward occupies two floors and features a 1,200sqm Guerlain spa – Switzerland’s first – as well as a 21m indoor pool and a 24-hour gym outfitted with Technogym equipment.

Billed as an oasis of relaxation, the Guerlain spa features six wellness rooms, including a double suite for couples, equipped with treatment beds from Gharieni.

Its facilities include two Swedish baths, two hammams, two saunas, a jacuzzi, an ice bucket shower, a snow shower and a boutique retail area.

The treatment menu offers a host of Guerlain treatments as well as two unique experiences developed exclusively for The Woodward.

“A day of relaxation begins with entry the Tea House by Guerlain, where clients will start their experience with an attentive and personalised treatment by one of our Beauty Experts.”

The Woodward offers 26 spacious, apartment-style suites

Owned by Bastion Holdings group and managed by Oetker Collection, The Woodward joins the German hotel management company’s portfolio of luxurious European properties, which includes The Lanesborough in London, Le Bristol in Paris and Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes.

Annual Club Woodward membership costs CHF 7,500 (£5,873, €6896,) per person and includes; one 60-minute treatment of member’s choice, 10 per cent off spa treatments and products in the Guerlain Spa boutique, as well as two spa passes for friends and family.

Membership also includes access to the facilities, including the gym and swimming pool, as well as 45 minutes of personal training, testing and physical conditioning, priority booking for classes and other activities, a designated locker and laundry services for sportswear on request.

Members will also receive free parking and valet, welcome gifts and an afternoon tea for two at Le Jardinier, one of the hotel’s two gourmet restaurants.

The Woodward took five years to build, with its extensive renovation spearheaded by French design studio, Pierre-Yves Rochon.

“The Woodward is more than just a five-star hotel. It’s been made to feel like a spectacular lake house, with all the familiar comforts of an intimate mansion. No detail has been overlooked,” said Rochon.
