The Grand Hotel Fasano, situated on Italy’s Lake Garda, is set to reopen for the summer season with a new 3,600sqm spa.

AQVA Spa and Wellness Centre, redesigned in house, has been fully renovated to become a healing temple of water.

As part of the renovation, AQVA Spa now includes expansive indoor and outdoor swimming pools connected by a covered tunnel, supplied by Hofer Group.

Additional facilities include a hydromassage tub, two saunas and two Turkish baths, also supplied by Hofer Group. These comprise a classic 90°C Turkish bath, a 45°C Turkish tepidarium, a Finnish sauna and a laconium.

The spa has experiential showers and a serene spa garden on the lake. A winter garden connecting the indoor and outdoor areas of the wellness centre includes a glass and wood structure, complete with sun beds and corner fireplace.

The AQVA Spa has four treatment rooms, employing five full-time therapists as well as a team of freelance specialists.

Treatments on the new menu use Sothys Paris products and include the 50-minute ‘1888 GHF’ signature treatment. Named after the year Grand Hotel Fasano was inaugurated, the face and body massage uses scented butters inspired by the property’s lakeside flower gardens

The indulgent 140-minute Soin Excellence Secrets de Sothys is a top-to-toe pamper session comprising 11 distinct face and body treatment stages using 11 formulas.

Uniforms are supplied by Maurel, while towels, robes and spa linens are Za & Bell. There is a fully equipped gym supplied by Technogym. Spa furniture is by Ethimo.

Spa design notes

AQVA Spa is closely connected with the architectural style of the Grand Hotel Fasano, both in terms of design and furnishings, which maintain the soft and delicate atmosphere.

The choice of materials places an emphasis on sustainability and sourcing hyper-locally. In the spa, 80 per cent of surfaces are made from marble from the Botticino quarries, which are a few kilometres from the hotel.

Botticino marble has a light grain and colour and has been used to clad some of the world’s most famous buildings, including the White House, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and the Altare della Patria in Rome.
