Luxury hotel and resort operator The Lesante Collection is set to open a new resort and spa on the Greek island of Zakynthos.

Located in the historic village of Akrotiri, the resort, called Lesante Cape, is expected to open in May 2022. It will comprise 55 guest suites and ten villas with private beach access, as well as three restaurants helmed by executive chef Aggelos Bakopoulos, and a ‘sumptuous’ wellness centre.

The spa will offer treatments based on traditional Mediterranean healing practices

Based on three core principles – unwind, restore, elevate – the Armonia Wellness Centre has been described as an ‘oasis of tranquillity to relax, pamper and rejuvenate’.

It will offer healing treatments and therapies, including full-body massages and beauty rituals, inspired by ancient Mediterranean healing practices, using natural and Earth-friendly products.

Facilities will include four treatment rooms and a massage treatment suite, as well as a sauna, a hammam, an adventure shower and an indoor hot tub. A fitness centre and indoor swimming pool complete the offering.

All elements of the resort are said to have been designed with full consideration for the local environment, with ecologically designed buildings set in ‘untouched’ natural surroundings.

Interiors, inspired by traditional Greek ‘sun-loving’ architecture, will combine a neutral colour palette with natural fibres and local art to create a soothing atmosphere.

Lesante Cape will also feature an onsite bio-farm, as well as a public space, known as an agora, with artisanal shops, a taverna and an on-site museum.

Additionally, the resort will offer a programme of outdoor activities and cultural experiences, including mountain hiking, ancient architectural tours and day trips to museums and marine parks.

Guests will also be able to learn about the region’s unique food and viniculture through wine tastings and farm-to-table cooking lessons, while specialist Greek nights with live music will immerse guests in the local culture.
