Luxury Driftwood Spa is completed at Isle of Mull hotel

A new spa will open this month at The Isle of Mull Hotel in western Scotland.

Driftwood Spa, which is part of a £3m (€3.47m) wellness investment in the 75-bedroom property by its owner, Crerar Hotels, will provide panoramic views over Craignure Bay out to the Sound of Mull.

Designed by Davidson+company to reflect and complement the beauty of the isle’s natural surroundings, the spa’s interiors are modern, clean and calming with a palette that includes Scottish green tweeds, warm heather tones and white linen.

The spa has chosen ishga for its treatment menu, which will include exclusive signature experiences harnessing the organic, therapeutic benefits of Hebridean seaweed. A range of face and body therapies will be performed in the spa’s four treatment rooms, which include two couples’ rooms, one single and a Seaweed Bath Room.

Furniture and equipment was supplied by Spa Vision and Salon Services and the spa’s facilities include a 17m swimming pool; a thermal suite with sauna and steam room; a foot spa; and a rasul mud chamber.

To complement its new offering, the hotel has created a collection of Spa Retreat Suites, each of which features its own sea terrace and private outdoor hot tub.

Landscaping is also taking place to allow for a range of new outdoor facilities, including a sea deck dining area and an external ‘Wilderness Spa’ featuring a hot tub and sauna, which will open in July.
