Biome by Corinthia London launched earlier this year, an updated spa philosophy for the iconic London property.

Biome by Corinthia London, a new identity for the spa, sees the property move away from its longstanding partnership with ESPA to join forces with Wildsmith and celebrity beauty brand, Augustinus Bader.

It unites modern science, instinct and intelligence with the healing rhythms of nature. European Spa met with the Corinthia team, as well as spa partners Wildsmith, to find out more about the new philosophy.

“It’s an exciting year for Corinthia as we continue to expand our portfolio and embed Corinthia Wellbeing across our destinations. Biome stands out due to its strong sense of identity and emphasis on experience-led wellness.”

Kerry Turpin

Global head of spa, wellness and longevity at Corinthia

“Corinthia Wellbeing is designed to allow every spa to tell its own unique story, shaped by its location, culture and guest profile,” continues Turpin, speaking exclusively to European Spa.

“With Biome in London, every element has been intentionally curated to deliver a unique guest journey, supported by a hand-picked collective of partners and practitioners who align with the vision behind the concept.

“This approach allows Biome to offer a wellness experience that feels both elevated and authentic. In the highly competitive London wellness landscape, Biome’s differentiation lies in its combination of world-class hospitality with a contemporary, experience-driven approach to wellbeing.”

A new era of wellbeing

Spanning four floors and encompassing 3,300sqm, the Spa at Corinthia London has 17 private treatment pods.

There is an expansive thermal floor with a swimming pool, vitality pool, new cold plunge pool, glass amphitheatre sauna, steamroom and experience showers.

The newly curated Biome experience begins with guided heat and water therapy, a restorative thermal journey designed as a prelude to every treatment. The sequenced pathway includes steam, sauna, plunge and recovery.

The Biome Sync Sauna is a guided, multi-sensory sauna experience comprising rhythmic self-massage, aromatic towel rituals to infuse botanicals into the air and guided stretching.

It concludes with the Botanical Seal, a hydrating mist of English rose, calendula and hyaluronic acid.

An evolved, simplified spa offering

Corinthia describes Biome as a bold new philosophy of ‘primal luxury’. This offer combines nature-led therapies, advanced skincare science and performance-driven movement.

Biome is working with AMP for its movement offer, with gym equipment from Technogym, BLK BOX and Peloton.

The brand is also working with renowned osteopath Nadia Alibhai, from Back 2 Well-Being, and Eco-Psychologist Amy Steadman, whose nature-led therapeutic approach invites deeper restoration through reconnection with the natural world.

“As the wellness industry has grown and developed, consumers have become increasingly confused,” says Aysun Mut, director of spa at Biome by Corinthia London.

“The time had come to evolve; simplifying our offer and giving power back to the consumer to be in charge of their own wellbeing. Guests can find their own version of wellness within their Biome journey.

“As part of that concept, we’ve worked to create an environment where different elements of simplified wellbeing come together to allow guests to hone their internal awareness in order to flourish.”

A first for London

Biome marks Wildsmith’s first London hotel partnership. Hero treatments include the Wildsmith Radical Botany Facial and the Wildsmith Circadian Rhythm Massage, designed for those feeling out of sync, fatigued or struggling with sleep.

“As a spa in the heart of London, we were conscious that it’s much harder for therapists and guests to feel a connection to nature,” says Katherine Pye, Wildsmith’s CEO.

“As part of our commitment to training we wanted to offer the therapists their own nature-based personal development experiences.”

"Each of Corinthia’s therapists experienced a full immersion day at Wildsmith’s Bothy at Heckfield Place, where they spent time in nature with the brand’s eco psychologist, learning how they can use the natural world to look after themselves, and so be able to give the best to their guests."

Katherine Pye

CEO, Wildsmith

Biome by Corinthia London offers Wildsmith’s newest wellbeing innovation: Silent Loads.

An approach designed to meet the needs of modern guests, it reframes how spas can support visitors who are experiencing chronic stress and sensory overload.

“Our master practitioners identified that guests today are carrying heavy personal loads. In response, we’ve segmented our offering into four areas – sleep and fatigue, overload and depletion, disconnection, and posture and tension,” explains Pye.

“We’ve evolved our treatments to help offset these silent loads. Each treatment begins with a guided consultation, allowing therapists to adapt the treatment in real time to support the guest’s presenting needs, whether this be nervous system regulation or whole-body recalibration.

“This is incorporated into the Biome treatment menu, and extended with the incorporated touchless wellbeing elements, such as the mindful thermal experiences.”
