The newly renovated Hotel d’Inghilterra Roma has added an exclusive new Spa Suite to its offering.

The historic Starhotels Collezione hotel in Rome, Italy underwent a comprehensive renovation, completed in Autumn 2024, which transformed its interiors. It has now revealed its new intimate wellness space, which accentuates the property’s historic charm.

The atmosphere in the Spa Suite is defined by soft light and a palette of pale tones. The original vaulted ceilings are complemented by glass and golden metal accents.

The interior design is characterised by clean lines and materials such as travertine that evoke the elegance of Roman palaces. Laid in a split brick style, it adorns both walls and floors, creating a warm atmosphere and neutral tones.

Wellness zones

Hotel d’Inghilterra Roma’s Spa Suite encompasses three distinct areas.

Fonti Serenitatis serves as the main spa area. It features a changing area with bathroom and a relaxation zone with a whirlpool bath reminiscent of ancient Roman fountains, supplied by GBR Solution.

There is also a double treatment cabin complete with the Smart Steam cabin by Starpool. The cabin offers customisable programmes – steam baths, sensory showers, aromatherapy, chromotherapy and music therapy, to transport guests to a world of fragrances and colours.

The Camera Gratiae zone hosts a dedicated single treatment cabin, providing a secluded space for personalised wellness therapies.

Lastly, the Technogym-equipped gym zone includes treadmills and stationary bikes, alongside a dedicated zone for yoga and Pilates.

Wellness menu

The spa offers a menu of treatments in collaboration with KamiSpa, a brand specialising in authentic Asian massage techniques. All staff have been trained in traditional healing practices.

Facials are offered in collaboration with Sisley products. Treatment beds are supplied by Lemi.

The menu highlights a variety of different treatments, featuring Thai, Shiatsu and Lomi-Lomi techniques performed using a blend of Asian oils.

Signature Treatments include Calor Thermalis, a massage with warm granite stones inspired by ancient Himalayan traditions, and Corpus et Anima, a revitalising Thai-inspired massage.

“Our Spa Suite represents more than just a new addition, it's a homage to the ancient Roman tradition of holistic wellness. Just as the Romans understood that true health is a delicate balance of mind, body and spirit, we've meticulously designed this space to transport guests to an era where self-care was an art form.”

Massimo Colli

General manager, Hotel d’Inghilterra

“The Spa Suite is the crowning jewel of our recent transformation,” said Massimo Colli, general manager at Hotel d’Inghilterra. “Here, guests can experience the same sense of rejuvenation the Romans sought centuries ago. We’re offering a therapeutic journey to cleanse, relax and restore.”

A Roman landmark

Hotel d’Inghilterra Roma is located just a few steps from the iconic Spanish Steps and the Via Condotti.

Since its opening in the 19th century, it has become a landmark in Rome. In its long history it has attracted writers and international celebrities from Oscar Wilde and Ernest Hemingway to Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn.

The hotel has recently reopened after an extensive restyling that enhances its historical charm, celebrating its history.
