Hannah Swain joins the Municipal Hotel and Spa Liverpool - MGallery Collection

Hannah Swain has taken on the role of spa manager at the Municipal Hotel and Spa Liverpool – MGallery Collection.

Swain joins the property from Champneys Mottram Hall, where she was spa manager.

Her previous experience in the industry includes overseeing the opening of the Manor House Spa and garden in Alsager, where she was spa manager for three years.

Swain began her career in spa at Carden Park in 2011, and then worked for Amaze Hotels for nine years as spa manager. Here she assisted with the development, refurbishment and opening of the BAZAAR spa at Shrigley Hall in Macclesfield.

She has also worked for Ruthin Castle in north Wales and the Chevin Hotel in Yorkshire.

Swain’s new role at the Municipal Hotel and Spa Liverpool – MGallery Collection will involve fully rebranding the spa, from its treatment offering and product houses to spa services.

“The role at the Municipal is so exciting and bursting with potential,” she said. “We are the only five-star hotel in Liverpool, so we aim to marry the spa ethos to reflect this.

“We are developing bespoke signature treatments and wow points for our guests to create the most indulgent luxury experience.

“I hope to develop and inspire our team to achieve maximum confidence and further their skills. I want to be a motivational figure, to help our therapists achieve their career aspirations and to be the best in their field.”

Part of the Accor Group in the UK, the Municipal Hotel and Spa Liverpool – MGallery Collection is a £40 million 179-room property, which opened in May 2023.

Housed in the refurbished Municipal Building, a grade II-listed heritage site that dates from the mid-19th century, the interior was redesigned by Jenny Denton at Grayland Interior.

Wellness facilities include a 16m indoor swimming pool, Himalayan salt sauna, steam room and experience shower.

There is also an ice experience, hot tub, laconicum, relaxation room and four treatment rooms.
