Global Wellness Day 2025 calls for 'meaningful connection'

This year’s Global Wellness Day (GWD) will take place on Saturday, June 14 and embrace the theme #ReconnectMagenta.

For 2025, GWD is shifting its focus to the art of reconnection – with ourselves, with our communities and with the planet.

Founded by Belgin Aksoy in 2012, one of our Platinum Resource Spa Leaders for 2025, GWD is an annual event dedicated to inspiring people to prioritise their health and wellbeing.

Celebrating its 14th year, GWD 2025 will encourage individuals to pause, reflect and actively rekindle meaningful connections that enhance their wellbeing.

“In today’s fast-paced world, digital distractions and societal pressures often lead to isolation,” said Belgin Aksoy, founder of Global Wellness Day.

#ReconnectMagenta is a reminder that true wellness comes from the bonds we cultivate with nature, with our loved ones and with ourselves.

“As we embark on 2025, we stand at a pivotal moment where the echoes of disconnection linger. In an age dominated by technology and relentless pace, the need to pause, reflect and reconnect has never been more pressing.

“While we may not rewrite the global narrative overnight, within each of us lies the capacity to spark change with small, meaningful steps toward a more connected life.”

The focus of the #ReconnectMagenta theme is to offer a roadmap to wellness, encouraging people to engage in activities that bring them closer to what matters. The day will embrace five key pillars.

1. Reconnect with Mother Nature

Encouraging people to immerse themselves in the serenity and vitality of the natural world by spending time outdoors and adopting sustainable habits that protect the planet.

2. Reconnect with self

Dedicate time to prioritise self-care through mindfulness, reflection and activities that fostering inner peace and personal growth.

3. Reconnect with family and friends

Urging people to strengthen the bonds with loved ones through quality time and open communication, and embrace the power of digital detoxes to be fully present.

4. Reconnect with community

GWD will encourage people to contribute to the wellbeing of their community by engaging in volunteer work or organising local events. “By fostering a sense of belonging and shared purpose, we can create a supportive and vibrant community for all,” said Aksoy.

5. Reconnect with longevity

The final pillar sees GWD encouraging a focus on prioritising physical, mental, emotional and cognitive wellbeing.

GWD is marked by a series of complimentary activities across the world. It is entirely not-for-profit day celebrated on the second Saturday of every June.

Aksoy founded GWD as an international social project, dedicated to living well.

It is now a global movement with 115 ambassadors who are wellness professionals from around the world.
