Speaking exclusively to European Spa, Taffryn Kinsey Ellis, the new director of wellness at Six Senses London, has revealed a glimpse of plans for the hotly anticipated site.

The Six Senses Spa promises to mirror the different energies of city life in a space reminiscent of an old-fashioned London underground station.

“The wellness offer will be set over two floors and will include an all-encompassing and unique range of experiences to stimulate, energise and restore guests.

Crafted experiences will be delivered with science, spirit and connection for the mind, body and soul,” says Kinsey Ellis.

Biohack Recovery Lounges and thermal facilities

Pioneering programming will encourage growth, reflection and reconnection among guests while Biohack Recovery Lounges will offer everything from air compression massage boots and Vespa belts to percussion massage devices and facial red light therapy.

The Recovery Lounges will also offer pulsing magnetic field matts, infra-red sauna blankets and a hyperbaric oxygen chamber.

As well as a 20m indoor swimming pool there will be a cold plunge pool and magnesium pool. Thermal facilities will include one Finnish and two bio saunas (situated in the male and female wet areas) plus a steam room. There will also be a Hammam and a flotation pod.

A 325sqm space dedicated to fitness will offer a gym and multi-purpose studio for classes such as yoga and aerial yoga, spinning and Pilates.

Treatments will be offered in two double and six single treatment rooms, as well as a sensory retreat treatment room and a cryotherapy room.

“I am super excited about the Alchemy Bar space. The area will be available for private bookings, where guests can attend workshops or take part in activities like creating their own essential oil bath products or bespoke candles.”

A new kind of social and wellness club

“The Alchemy Bar will be a space dedicated to learning and fun, where skilled therapists will guide guests through a variety of locally-sourced ingredients to blend their own spa products,” says Kinsey Ellis.

On the second floor, there will be a new kind of social and wellness club featuring a central bar and lounge, restaurant and co-working spaces.

“I am beyond excited to be part of the launch of our very first Six Senses Place in London,” says Kinsey Ellis. “It will be a one-of-a-kind social club where wellness, community and celebration will meet, with sustainability at its core.

“Six Senses Place will be home to the Biohack Recovery Lounge, as well as co-working spaces and four small meeting room lounges. If I’m not found in the Recovery Lounges, come look for me here in these stunning social spaces!

“My role at Six Senses London is to deliver the brand’s vision and values, and of course its two primary pillars of wellness and sustainability.

“My aim will be to deliver out of the ordinary experiences in this space, that will inspire the spirit of hospitality and raise the bar with our wellness offering in London; I will be very busy!”
